So, here's something I don't do often and am going to try to do more of ... post about my other children. I may even change the name of this blog ... am open to suggestions.
Who knows! There might even be a prize! I'm sure I can come up with something fun!
Anyway, ... this week marked the 8-year "Adoptiversary" of our daughter, Brynn. We celebrate the day that she officially became our daughter because that was a very special day.
Happy 8th Adoptiversary to my sweet baby Brynn ... the one who relishes that she's my only baby girl (because she was still a baby when she was adopted).
We planned to celebrate HER and make her "feel" as special and as dearly loved as she truly is!! She was really surprised because she didn't "know" that it was her adoptiversary when she woke up that day!
Brynn - I'm so proud of who you are, ... so blessed by your compassion, ... challenged by your stubborness, ... kept young by your playfulness, ... and very happy to be your mama!!
And we're also super PROUD of our daughter, Molly, and her teammate, Mina, who placed FIRST in the AWANA Trek Bible Quiz competition this weekend! They got a perfect score in the first half and only missed one in the second half. So amazed at their determination and heart to strive at something that is going to benefit them their whole lives!!
Molly and Mina have "quizzed" together for the last six years and they have really become quite the TEAM!! Both mamas were really pleased with their accomplishment.
The 'Dynamic Duo'!!
Jonah will get his orthodontic appliances on tomorrow. He is starting to get a little anxious and he has decided that he does NOT want to have surgery. Seeing the 'fear' in his eyes is disheartening but we walked him through it similarly to how we did with Rees and we assured him that we will be there with him and we will hold his hand and take care of him.
Rees will also see the doctors again tomorrow to be sure that everything is still continuing as far as healing appropriately. He has been in great spirits and we are so thankful for that.
Though we have our ups and downs, God has been with us and we have discovered that the more we go through, the more we can see how much He is blessing us. We are in awe by all the hands that have come around us to help us, hold us, and harvest a multitude of blessings that God had prepared for us.
We.are.simply.amazed.
